In 2015, Hugues Defréville and Pierre Delmas, two entrepreneurs with complementary skills, created newHeat with the objective of becoming one of the key players of solar thermal heat production.
A unique know-how
We master both industrial scale solar heat production and the engineering challenges of industrial processes.
We are attentive to our clients’ needs and build bespoke projects to bring reliable and fit for purpose energy supply solutions to their businesses
In a fast paced industry we remain independent from the technology suppliers and choose the most competitive solutions for each of our projects.
A long term vision
We retain ownership of our plants thereby ensuring our clients have a reliable partner by their side for the long run.
Our growth is built on innovative heat supply technologies that enable us to develop a considerable but yet underexploited resource: solar energy.
We strongly believe that newHeat will be a game changer in the industrial heat market and will bring a practical and massive response to the challenge of rising CO2 emissions.
Each day we strive to improve on the design of our projects and optimise the operation of our solar plants to create more value for our customers.
We believe in strong social and environmental commitments to bring meaning to our growth.
Hugues Defreville, CEO
Hugues started his career with Direct Energie in 2007 before taking part in the creation of Neoen, today France’s first independent renewable energy producer.
As manager for the wind and solar departments he built more than 500 MW of wind and solar power including Europe’s largest solar farm in the Bordeaux area in France, Cestas (300 MWc). Hugues then contributed to the launch of Neoen’s international projects and then briefly joined Orège to build its international development. In 2015 he created newHeat with Pierre.
Hugues is a graduate of the Ecole Polytechnique and a civil engineer from Ponts et Chaussées.
Within newHeat, Hugues is in charge of strategy, financing and project development.
Pierre has over 5 years’ experience in industrial scale solar heat production. He started his career with Rackam, a world leading Canadian provider of concentrated solar thermal technologies. He then joined Montperal Energia, an independent EPC Spanish firm of which he was a partner and engineering manager. With Montperal Energia Pierre led the construction of a 500 kWTH solar thermal plant pilot project in Spain. After an experience as engineering and sales manager for the Spanish industrial boiler manufacturer Pirobloc he joined Exosun in 2014 to be in charge of the development of products designed for the solar thermal market.
In 2015 he created newHeat with Hugues.
Pierre is a graduate of Université de Technologie de Compiègne where he studied mechanical engineering.
Within newHeat, Pierre is in charge of R&D projects along with the design and operation of our solar thermal plants
